Saving America with the Ten Commandments: Sabbath Day

Exodus 20: 8

“Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it, you shall not do any work, neither you nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

Often individuals forget about the good deeds that God has done for them, which is why the Lord says to remember. People pray to God for different needs, and God answers them, but on the Sabbath day, people forget and show appreciation by going elsewhere.

God is the giver of your strength, and it is renewed in the house of God. (Matthew 18:20 –for where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.) The Lord’s presence is present in his house.

Sunday is not your day off; it is Lord’s Day.

– The Sabbath is God’s gift to man (Mark 2: 27- “the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”)

Sabbath means to create.

– There is no day that matches the Sabbath day. (It is a day of recreation; people get peace, the shackles of misery are broken, marriages are restored, sick bodies are healed, angels gather, and demons scatter. It is a day like no other.

– The Sabbath did not start with the ten commandments but instead with creation. (Exodus 20:11 – ” For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, but he rested  on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”

Psalms 84:4- “Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.” ,

Psalms 62:11 – “One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard, “Power belongs to you, God.”

– Strength belongs to the Lord and is present in His house under His presence.

One can get mental, physical and spiritual strength in the church more than anywhere else.

Isaiah 40: 31- “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint”.

– One shall be divinely charged in the presence of the Lord.

– There is no one who can break the Sabbath day to keep the mental and physical health that God intended.

– Peak efficiency – for an individual to enhance and reach peak efficiency, they should work six days a week and rest on the seventh day in the presence of the Lord.

Colossians 2:16 – “therefore, do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a new moon celebration or a Sabbath day.” – It is not what day one worships; it must be a specific day.
